About the Stockton Summer Youth Rowing Program - the Stockton Summer Youth Rowing Program provides a free summer enrichment opportunity for diverse and underserved Atlantic County middle school students. As a team-oriented sport, rowing teaches skills that participants can use throughout their lives: rowing helps participants to develop leadership skills; enhance their safety and wellness; develop confidence; and undergo personal growth. The five-week camp emphasizes not only athletic development and teamwork, but also demonstrates the importance of exercise and nutrition, introduces novice rowers to the sport of rowing, and provides an overview on safety and the maintenance, storage and care of equipment. As such, the camp encourages the value of a tactile, experiential-based education. Full program details can be found on the camp website at stockton.edu/youthrowing.
In less than a week, a new group of young rowers will make their way to Stockton for the second annual Summer Youth Rowing Program.
Your generous support helps make it possible for young students to experience the sport of rowing, receive expert coaching, make new friends and stay active! Thank you!
We’ll post updates during camp, so check back and share the news with family and friends, too.
